Statement of Faith
1. We believe the Bible to be the sole inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God, and of supreme and final authority.
Isaiah 55:11, 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Romans 3:4 Proverbs 35:6
2. We believe that there is one living and true God; an infinite, intelligent Spirit, perfect in all His attributes, one in essence but eternally subsistent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
John 17:3 Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 1:23 & 28:19, John 1:1-4, 14 & 10:30, II Corinthians 5:21 & 13:14
3. We believe in the fall of man; although originally created in the image of God, through the disobedience of Adam, man fell into a sinful state and became separated from God totally unable to justify himself before God.
Genesis 2:7, & 3:6, 17-19, Romans 5:12, 18-21, & Galatians 5:16
4. We believe that Jesus Christ, God’s Son was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He is the express image of the invisible God, which is to say He is God. He became man, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for sin. He literally arose from the dead in the body in which He was crucified; that He ascended into Heaven in that body glorified, where He is now, our interceding High Priest; and that He will return personally, visibly, and gloriously.
Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 1:23 & 28:19, John 1:1-4, 14 & 10:30, II Corinthians 5:21 & 13:14
5. We believe that salvation is the free gift of God for by grace you have been saved through faith. Salvation is not our own doing; it is the gift of God, not by works so that no one may boast. That God, in love, gave His only Son to die on the cross for sin, redeeming those who come to Him. Salvation is eternal in its duration. This gift must be responded to in individual faith, not trusting in any personal works, but in the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ alone.
Ephesians 2:8-9, Acts 4:12, Romans 5:15-17, John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10 & Romans 6:23
6. We believe that God created men and women in the image of God. He made them distinctly male and female. Marriage, as God ordained, has only one meaning: that it is sanctioned by God, joining one man and one woman spiritually and physically, in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture.
Genesis 1:27, Genesis 2:24 Matthew 19:4-6
Isaiah 55:11, 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Romans 3:4 Proverbs 35:6

Our Mission |
CHEC is a committed to Christ-centered, Biblically-sound homeschool support group with a fellowship of likeminded believers taking responsibility for educating their children.
|
Our Purpose |
CHEC is an organization whose foundation and structure is distinctly Christian and whose primary purpose is to support Christian homeschool families who meet in the Kershaw County area. CHEC has purposed that the organization and all its activities and publications will be consistently forthrightly honoring and glorifying to the Lord God. We seek to provide encouragement and support through group meetings, field trips, fellowships and other various activities.
CHEC is not an accountability group and information shared is NOT given as legal advice and should not take the place of legal counsel from a qualified informed attorney. CHEC is not responsible for, nor do we endorse, the education programs of any of our members. |
Acknowledgement of Christian Emphasis |
While we take steps to ensure that our group maintains and upholds the standards outlined in our Statement of Faith as well as throughout the Mission and Purpose of Christian Home Educators of Camden (CHEC), we acknowledge that the entirety of individuals signing these documents may not always subscribe to or adhere to the guidelines set into place. Therefore, those within the CHEC community who desire to lead the group in any capacity will need to be approved by the Administration Team (A-Team). To understand what it looks like to lead, please see the guidelines listed below.
*Leadership within CHEC includes: teaching, leading, praying, or hosting any group meetings, fellowships, field trips, or other various activities. I understand and affirm that my children will be taught that religions that add to, take away, or alter the closed canon of the Scriptures of the Holy Bible differ from the Christian faith. |
